Garden Uses:

  • Excellent hedging and screening – often used to screen neighbours.

Strong growing to provide a generous display of cup shaped fragrant white flowers in mid to late Spring. Birds eat the ripe fruit and nectar blossom, from spring flowers are a useful food source for early insects.

Hedging: use 3 plants per metre in double row & 2 plants in a single row.

Hardiness: Fully Hardy

Soil Type: Well-drained soils avoid waterlogged sites. If very chalky soil leaves may yellow.

Position: Prefers partial shade but suitable for full sun

Growth Rate: Grows 2ft a year (60cm) in ideal conditions. Eventual unclipped height – width 8 metres x 10 metres.

Planting time: Late summer to late winter.
